The Q3 labor market ended on a higher note than it started. As the world adjusts to a post-pandemic reality, the labor market has been slow to recover. It will be interesting to see where Q4 ends because this is still a somewhat odd job market.
While the supply chain has always had an impact on the job market, the onset of the pandemic made that relationship even more important—and volatile.
There may still be a few challenges as the holiday season rolls around because demand has become more unpredictable. But overall, there has been a strengthening of the job market, and appears to be returning to “normal” as we close out Q3.
