Staff Management | SMX Identifies Top Jobs That America’s Supply Chain Is Hiring For

Keeping supply chains moving during a pandemic when people are worried not just about accessing essential products, but about employment can be challenging. Using its Stafftrack® tool, which tracks job openings across the country, leading staffing firm Staff Management | SMX identified the top jobs in the supply chain throughout the pandemic and which ones are still hiring. This includes both essential temporary and temp-to-perm work to help people get a foot in the door at a company for a long-term opportunity.

“While many companies reduced production during the pandemic, we continue to see job opportunities in consumer retail and e-commerce and manufacturing and distribution of food and beverage technology products,” said Carl Schweihs, president of TrueBlue’s PeopleManagement division, which oversees Staff Management | SMX. “Our data shows that jobs are available across the supply chain, from manufacturing to warehousing to drivers, so that people are able to work, products stay on shelves and front-line workers get the PPE and equipment they need.”

A recent Staff Management | SMX survey of 260 supply chain companies found that 1 in 4 companies increased their production, either of existing products or to serve community needs, during the pandemic. With economies reopening and more production lines ramping up, Staff Management | SMX supplemented these survey findings with data from Stafftrack to identify the top jobs from March through June and in the months ahead:

Temperature Monitors
Sewing Machine Operators
Machinists
Packing/Sorting/Returns Workers
Dispatchers/Drivers/Transportation Coordinators
Janitorial Staff
Shipping/Receiving Associates
Electronics Technicians
Food Packaging Associates
Forklift Operators

These jobs reflect an increase in pandemic safety roles and in supply chain functions. Because the supply chain needs consistent momentum to keep moving, many companies are looking at staffing firms to help restart their businesses. Staff Management | SMX is a leader in using data to connect people with work and help companies ensure that people have the essential products they need.
