Last week the Staff Management | SMX Indiana team participated in the 13th annual Million Meal Marathon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. This one-day event gathered over 1,100 volunteers to pack meals for Indiana food banks.
It’s a tough time for food banks as more families are needing help than ever before. The meals included macaroni and cheese dinners and rice casseroles. These easily prepared meals are cooked by adding boiling water and can feed a family of four.
“We had a great time at this event, it was a perfect team-building activity while providing an opportunity to give back to the Indiana community”, said Raenetta Johnson, Recruitment Operations Manager for Staff Management | SMX. “We understand many Indiana families don’t know where their next meal is coming from this holiday season, so being able to help our community is a heartwarming feeling.”
Staff Management | SMX came on as a contributing sponsor for the Million Meal Movement, providing financial support for food supply and team members to pack meals. A fun-filled activity while giving back to the community resulted in a successful event of packing over 280,000 meals.
