Staff Management | SMX, a leader in the staffing industry, earned a Bronze Stevie® Award in The 17th Annual International Business Awards® for its use of drive-thru hiring events to interview and hire people safely, the company announced today.
When citing what set Staff Management | SMX apart from the competition in the Most Valuable Corporate Response category, judges commented that it was “an innovative way to hire during the pandemic”, especially its targeting of “the areas who received the largest increase in unemployment rate,” which “truly serves the greater purpose of helping those who need it most.”
Since the pandemic began, Staff Management | SMX has hosted drive-thru hiring events across five states and hired hundreds of people, many on the spot. Applicants could complete applications online using Staff Management | SMX’s Stafftrack® mobile solution before driving to the site. They parked and interviewed through an open window or outside with proper social distancing and masks. The recruiting team also wore masks and used hand sanitizer and disinfectant spray. The events focused on essential businesses and areas hard hit by unemployment.
“As unemployment continues to take its toll on our communities, we want to do everything we can to help get America back to work safely and quickly,” said Carl Schweihs, president of TrueBlue’s PeopleManagement division, which oversees Staff Management | SMX. “I am incredibly proud of our Staff Management | SMX teams for their hard work in ensuring that people have access to jobs during a difficult time and congratulate them on this well-deserved honor.”
The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. More than 3,800 nominations were reviewed in the judging process by more than 250 executives worldwide.
“Despite the unprecedented impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on organizations and working people worldwide, the number and quality of nominations we received in this year’s International Business Awards attests to the continued outstanding performance of many organizations. The commitment we’ve seen through these nominations to maintaining the success, health, and safety of employees, customers, and communities is truly impressive,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Gallagher.
